One step closer...

On Monday the kids and I went to the state capital for the release of the Arizona quarter. They handed out free quarters to all of the kids under 18. My kids were a little impatient waiting for the Governor to finish speaking (her speech was really short and sweet, but you know how kids can be), but they endured and were rewarded with shiny new quarters. Brendon was the most excited since he's been collecting all of the quarters on his fun map. It was fun to see several other kids holding their quarter collections there at the capitol, and Brendon had fun talking to another boy his age about how many they each had. Now he only has three quarters left to find--which means some waiting since two aren't released yet.

Madison collects state quarters too. Wish I would have known about the release of the AZ quarter at the capitol... she would have loved that! Wow, only 3 more to go! I told Madison and she was like, "We need to keep looking for more!!!"

I didn't know Brendan was collecting the state coins (I probably did though and forgot!) The kids were really excited to see this, because they knew about his collection.
That is so cool that you took them to the state capital, what a good mom you are!

What a neat experience for your kids to see firsthand. That is so awesome that he has almost all of the coins!
