I want to remember...

So it's been a while, like a whole month! We've been going, going, going--having fun and getting things done. So I'm doing a bit of catching up again so that I won't forget all the fun we've had.

Here's just a few of the things I want to remember from this November:

1. The absolutely PERFECT weather! We've celebrated the great weather by spending as much time as possible outside--park days with friends every Thursday (the kids get out early those days), jumping on the trampoline, walking to school (occasionally =) I'm such a lazy morning person), and just riding bikes and scooters in the cul-de-sac. Can't say enough good things about this weather!

2. Canning apples. Okay, maybe I want to forget the actual canning part, but I do want to remember getting the apples. I ordered some more fruit (apples) from the Fresh Fruit Divas. I love their quality and prices, and even though they're in the East Valley, I think it's so great that Phil can just pick stuff up on his way home from work. Except that now he has Fridays off and wouldn't you know it that the apples arrived on Friday. Not so perfect, huh? Actually it was! Phil suggested making a fun trip out of the pick up, so we got some gourmet happy meals and took the kids to Freestone Park to play. It was one of those rare family outings where everything went smoothly and everyone got along--and the park is beautiful and full of memories for me--way better than parks we have in the West Valley. We had an amazing time playing and being together, and I was sad when the night had to end. Typical me, I didn't have my camera (where's that Velcro???), so this grainy cell phone pic will have to do for the memory books.

3. A trip to Thatcher. Phil's uncle passed away, so we made an unplanned trip to Thatcher in the middle of the month. It's been so long since we've been there to visit! So much fun visiting our families--and being together with most of Phil's family. Can't wait to see them all again this weekend! Plus, I have to brag that my kids were so well behaved during the funeral. It counts as "well behaved" when they sleep through the whole thing, right? We'd had so much fun staying up late and playing that the younger three dozed off, and Brendon's always well behaved. I know funerals are sad occasions, but being with family is always good.

4. Winter grass. We debated weather or not to put it in--being hard economic times and all--but decided that it's worth the cost and effort since winter is really the only time we actually use the yard. And now we are so happy we did! Saturdays playing together in the back yard make it worth every penny and backache =) Football was our game of choice last Saturday after spending most of the day helping at Brendon's car wash fundraiser for band and choir (notice Brendon's in his swimsuit--how cool is it that it's warm enough to hold a car wash in November!).

There's so much more, but I think I covered most of the month in one word--outside =) Plus, I really need to get going on my day and go make some pies! We're excited to head over to Thatcher again tonight. Happy Thanksgiving!

Sounds like you've had a fun month. Your grass looks GREAT-- I think we would have done it if ours would turn out as nice! Happy Thanksgiving!
